Quinten Hermans (Tormans) got the third place of the men’s podium after Van Der Haar and Iserbyt despite a puncture
The dutch rider, Lucinda Brand (Baloise Trek Lions), seems to be unbeatable this season as Ceylin Del Carmen Alvarado was in the last one. Brand finished imposing her legs power but the race was absolutely not a coffe ride, with six riders heading the race during five laps at the Tabor circuit, till the Lucinda’s final attack in the last one: Puck Pieterse (Alpecin Fenix), Annemarie Worst (777), Alvarado (Alpecin Fenix), Denise Betsema (Pauwels Sauzen Bingoal) and Kata Blanka Vas (SD Work), the only not dutch one in final the top ten with the panamerican champion Maghalie Rochette.
In the men’s race the current european champion Lars Van Der Haar (Baloise Trek Lions) was the stronger as Quinten Hermans recognized after the race: the Tormans rider finished after Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauzen Bingoal) despite a punctuerd and explianed that “the parcours in Tabor enabled me to exploit my explosivity. In the second race half I had to draw on my reserves to ride to the pits on a flat tire and get back to the front afterwards. That’s probably the energy I was lacking in the final to battle for the victory until the finish line, even though I have to admit that Lars van der Haar was by far the strongest rider today. I’m happy that I finished on a World Cup podium for the third time this season“.
The ground was dry in almost all the sectors of the circuit, so we could enjoy fast races and hard speedy attacks constantly. As the dutch women do, the belgians keep on dominating the men´s cyclocross overview with seven riders in the top ten last weekend. Have a look to the highlights video:
