BePink riders Silvia Zanardi and Michaela Drummond at the Track Cycling World Championships

Drummond will compete next saturday at madison and Zanardi on sunday at the points race.

The italian team Bepink will have two riders at the Track Cycling World Championships that began yesterday at the velodrome Jean Stablinsky, adjacent to the iconic roundabout where the Paris-Roubaix ends, in the “monumental” french town near the belgian border.

They will be the transalpine Silvia Zanardi and her team mate, the new zealander Michaela Drummond: Zanardi won recently at the U-23 road, pursuit, team pursuit and points race in the european championships and was part of the silver medal italian senior pursuit team at the european championships just a few weeks ago, and she comes from getting podiums at Fourmies and Plumelec races.

Meanwhile Drummond was part of the kiwi team pursuit champion of the world two years ago in Hong Kong toward Emily Shearman, Nicole Shields and Ally Wollaston (her couple next saturday), winnig that year at the omnium and madison races of the Fastest Women on Wheels too.

Zanardi comes to Roubaix in a very good shape while the couple Drummond/Wollaston could beat the expectations.
