Judith Krahl won again at the German women’s U23 cyclocross national championship held last weekend in Luckenwalde (Brandenburg) organized by the Rad Team Seidel. While no spectators were allowed in Belgium and Holland, several hundreds of cyclocross fans gathered in Luckenwalde in the spacious event area around the Fläming Therme, which ensured a good atmosphere in the 2’8km long circuit.

Riders faced a 40 meter long sand passage, as well as staircases and short ascents and descents alternating with running passages in a windy and cold day.

In this context Judith Krahl was able to defend her title from the previous year and her third in a row, achieving the top step of the podium with more than minute over her competitors: “The third title means a lot to me and it was very cool racing in Brandenburg, because among other things, my trainer with family and people from my home club were on the track”, said Judith in an interview after her victory.

Krahl describes her outlook for the coming cross season saying that “I have found a lot of things that I can improve and expand and I hope to continue the season with even more UCI races on the schedule. I hope that I can be further ahead at the start of the World Cup and thus achieve better placements“.

It was not he only good new for team Schamel: Pascal Tömke was the winner at the men’s U23 category while Toby Barnes won the bronze medal in the british one. Another member of the team, Florian Hamm, achieved a meritory 4th position at the german elite championship won by Marcel Meisen.
